How to Compare Gummy Snack Labels: Sugar, Protein & Ingredients
Gummy snacks can look similar while differing in ingredients and nutrition facts. Comparing the label can help you understand what is in each serving.
Start with serving size
Check the serving size first. Nutrition facts apply to the amount shown on the label, so compare products using the same serving amount.
Look at sugars and sweeteners
The Nutrition Facts panel lists total sugars, while the ingredient list shows which sweeteners are used. Yumtein’s current label lists 0g total sugars and 14g sugar alcohols per 52g bag.
Yumtein uses sorbitol and maltitol, which are sugar alcohols, plus stevia leaf extract as a separate sweetener. Sugar alcohols are carbohydrates used for sweetness and to add bulk and texture.
Check protein sources and allergens
Each 52g bag contains 15g of protein. Yumtein’s protein sources include whey protein isolate and halal beef gelatin. Yumtein contains milk and is not vegan. Check the package for the complete ingredient and allergen information.
Compare flavors
Yumtein is available in nine flavors: Cherry, Strawberry, Blue Raspberry, Grape, Pineapple, Green Apple, Watermelon, Mixed Berry, and Fruit Punch. Browse the gummy collection or build your own box.
